Antique Treasure Hunting

Antique Treasure hunting.  We have a number of antique shops here at the Stagecoach market and may just have what you have been searching for.

Furniture, glassware, vases, collectible plates, fine china, pictures, and so much more.

What we can not do is bring all the goods to you.  We have to have you come and look it over and decide if it's what you are looking for and at a price you are willing to pay.

So plan a day or two to come around and see all of the incredible items that are ready for new homes.  Our shopkeepers and vendors love yer smilin face anyways.

The Stagecoach Market, ya gotta love it.

Comic Book Treasures Plus Appreciation

Treasure hunting is one of the great things here at the Stagecoach market.  People come here looking for all kinds of treasures and we have people selling all kinds of treasures.  One never knows what one is likely to find.  Some treasures are hidden or buried and must be dug out, cleaned up to be realized, while others are in plain site waiting for a new owner.

Comic Book 1" target="_blank">Charlie Chan Free Comic Book 1 from Chuck Thompson

Here is a Golden Age comic book that we are giving away.  It's part of our way of saying thank you to everyone.  All of our vendors, shopkeepers, and customers.  It's free to everyone.  Just go to our Slideshare site and log in with either a Facebook account, LinkedIn account or create a free account to get this download.

Comic books have often been found here at the Stagecoach market.  Old, very old and new and is one of the great treasures that some collectors like to search for.  The comic book is a full version and 49 pages.  It is also an introduction into an online partnership we are starting to create.

Partnership?  You read that right.  We have spent the past few years researching all kinds of ideas and believe we have come up with some good stuff.  So here is what we are looking at.  We will be covering all kinds of collectibles on this site and we will be offering for sale, a way to make money with certain types of collectibles.  How?

We are glad you asked.  One example is the comic book above.  We are looking at creating files where you can download say 6 comic books like the one above for say $10.00.  So how do you make money on them?  Take the files of the 6 comics and burn them to CD and sell the CD.  Yes, it's legal.  We will only deal in legal content.

So why would anyone buy the CD when they can get it here online?  Do you think everyone visits this site?  Even if they do, not everyone will buy online.  Site seen, they are liable to buy it when they see it.  Impulse sales, vendor loyalty, many reasons.  What about competition?  Really?  Do you need to go there?  Everyone everywhere is competition.

Are we limited to just comics?  No.  We have a tremendous amount of stuff we will be bringing to you very soon.  Stay tuned as it's going to get very interesting around here.

Treasure Hunting At The Stagecoach Market

What Is It?

So what is this?  Look close.  See the bread in it?  It's an old fashioned toaster.  This is an incredible example of what toasters used to look like.  Now we are not saying you will find this at the Stagecoach market, but we are not saying you won't find it here either.

What we are saying is that you never know what you are likely to find here.  It's a treasure hunt.  And we invite one and all to come here and hunt for your own personal treasures.  You never know what is right around the corner.

It's finally Starting To Feel Like Spring

After a long cold brutal winter, it's finally starting to feel like spring out here.  That means more traffic and more people spending more time at the market.  Hope everyone had a great winter and kept warm.

The vendors here are glad to not be freezing anymore that is for sure.  Though plenty of hot coffee helped a lot of us get through the cold weather.

So while you are out traveling around, please be sure to make a special stop here at the Stagecoach market and check out all of the incredible deals our vendors have to offer.

With this economy the way it is, everyone can use a deal these days and the Stagecoach Market is one of the best places in all of Tidewater to get those incredible deals and find things you just will not find anywhere else.

Hope to see you soon.  Hey, while you are on this site, why not plus one us and share this with your friends.  Thanks.

Stagecoach Market Views On A Day Off

Front isle view during the weekday.  Just a small idea of what the market looks like on a day off.  The entire selling area is huge.  From one week to another one never knows what kind of treasures will be found on these tables.  Everything from bath soap to wind chimes, CD music to DVD movies, games to antique desks and chairs are just a tiny list of what you will run across here.

A lot of changes have taken place over the past year here clearing out some old tress and bushes that had overgrown and were blocking views of some of the shops are now gone making finding many shops much easier now.  New paved drives have also been added making the parking lot cleaner.  The shopping experience is much improved and ready for you to explore.

So plan on coming by and walking around to see what kind of treasure you can come away with.  We look forward to seeing you soon.

These Flea Market Supplies Can Improve Your Day

Extensive flea market supplies aren't necessary. Having these things to improve your displays, make sales easier, and make you more comfortable can sure make a day at the swamp meet more successful.

These swap meet supplies are optional. Having and using them can make your business run smoother and make it more profitable for you.
• Markers and poster board or an erasable white board. They make it easy to call attention to your booth, to your flea market displays, and to specials you are offering.
Small stickers for pricing individual items. They lessen sale day confusion for you, your helpers, and your customers.
Newspapers for wrapping breakables.
• Bags. They are a convenience that often encourages customers to buy more. Recycled grocery sacks work fine.
• Change. Start with a specified amount of small bills and coins. I recommend starting with $100. I consider this mandatory, but I have seen others get by without it.
• A secure place to put your money. Use a moneybox or fanny pack.
• Calculator or scratch pad and pen or pencil to add up multiple item sales. Some vendors use a cash register.
• A receipt book. If you use a calculator or cash register with a paper printout, you can use those as receipts.
• Tables and chairs. Many flea markets furnish or rent them, but having your own can be easier and less costly.
• Display materials. Shelves, plate stands, and clothes racks can enhance your flea market booth and make your merchandise more visible.
Price guides.
• A cooler filled with cold beverages and snacks.
• Comfortable clothing. Dress in layers as temperatures often change from early morning set up to the heat of the afternoon. Comfortable shoes are nearly essential, especially if you’ll be standing most of the day.
• Sunscreen. If you are working an outdoor market you’ll likely want protection from overbearing sun. If you aren’t afraid of the chemicals, you may want to use a chemical sunscreen product. Otherwise, opt for a sun visor or hat, long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt.
You may not think of these as flea market supplies, but you may need them. Depending on the location and local regulations, you may need a business license from the state or local governing bodies. You may also need a state sales tax permit. Your state's department of revenue and city's business office should be able to give you details for your particular requirements.
Having more than the basic flea market supplies can increase your swap meet income. However, if you say you can’t set up at a flea market because you don’t have the swap meet supplies you need, you are just making excuses. Vendors set up every day at swap meets – and make good money – with nothing more than the supply of flea market products they have for sale.

Vendor Information And Rates

We have another site you may not have seen.  On this other site is information about vendor rates for tables and availability.  Now the folks who own and run the flea market are not the same ones who run these sites.  We are not always aware of all the changes that take place at the market and to be honest, we are a bit out of date.  So if any of our information is wrong, we do apologize now for such.  The market is a great place to shop and visit.  We have spent many wonderful years there as dealers ourselves and enjoyed every minute of it.  The owners are truly wonderful people that are easy to get along with and work with.  So be sure to go there and have a great deal of fun.

Now for that other site.  Please click the link right here.

Green Shopping at The Stagecoach Market, Gloucester, VA

Green shopping in Gloucester, VA. Buying used items is a form of recycling. There is no carbon foot printing on the manufacturing of the items on the second time around. The price is sure to be lower than the same type of item new. You are saving the items from going to a landfill and potentially polluting our water supplies. You are supporting the most local economy. The items are not being shipped in from China a second time around. (Assuming the items are made in China to begin with). No more boxes are being used to ship the items to the Stagecoach Market unless someone has chosen to recycle a box to move the items in.

Just because it is used does not mean it isn't still good. There are a lot of good used DVD's, Games, VHS tapes, china, furniture, toys, TV's, computers, software, electronics, stereo's, automotive audio equipment, cloths and so much more. New items that people bought but never used so they are re selling it for less than the cost they paid.
